Part of the Chile Census

We go and buy arepas every pday now.. they are so good!

24 April 2017

Another week has come and gone in LA GRAN MISION CHILE OSORNO! So much to do every day it’s so much fun!

Wednesday, they had the Census here where everyone is off work so that they can be in their house and people go around and fill out papers about how many people are here in Chile. President said we had to stay in our house until they came to our house. They came at about 10 in the morning and asked us a bunch of random questions. The last one they asked was our relationship and they didn’t have ones for companions so we said we were Hermana’s, so we are truly Hermana’s here in Chile! It’s true... I love my sister Hermana Adams! She is such an amazing missionary and seriously every hour is so fun working together! We were so happy they came early because that means we could leave...

After lunch, we went contacting like crazy and we found the cutest family!!!!! Dolly, Francisco, Nicol (4) and Alfonso (2) ... When we knocked on their door it was like they had been waiting for us! We went in and they offered us some cake and we sat down and shared about our loving Heavenly Father with them and got to know them! They got married when she found out she was pregnant with Nicol. They are both from two different religions but don’t go to either of them... They have a cute little new house and moved in about a month ago. Little Nicol calls us her Tias (aunts) and gives us so many hugs and kisses! This family is so prepared and I can’t wait for us to come Tuesday to share more with them! WE HAVE FOUND SO MANY PREPARED SONS AND DAUGHTERS! It’s so fun finding and truly feeling SO MUCH LOVE for people I barely know. I just want them all to have the JOY and LOVE they can feel through this amazing Gospel!
We also had an amazing lesson with Claudia and she is progressing and reading the Book of Mormon!

Wednesday night I felt the spirit to knock a cute house that looked different than the rest (because usually they all look the same, I call them cookie cutter houses). We knocked and a sweet lady named Julia came to her gate and we said we would like to sing a hymn for her and her family she gladly invited us in and we got to meet her sweet nephew who cannot see or talk but can only hear. We asked if we could turn off the TV and her and her daughter warned us that he would scream but as we began to sing he smiled so big and was so happy! I believe we all felt the spirit so strongly. They asked us to sing another and it was so special! We will be going tonight hopefully to teach the plan of salvation! It was so beautiful!

Thursday, we got told from the AP’s that we now need to do surprise inspections to all the houses of the Hermanas! So, we started doing that this week and we will have lots to do this week before cambios next week! Their houses aren’t too beautiful so far, hahaha. Elder Thomas said, ¨I’m friends with all the Elders and then it comes to the inspections and we aren’t friends until it’s over... he is so funny.

Last night I got to say goodbye to a member’s dad that was slowly headed to the Spirit World to rest from his pains... It made me emotional watching him and reminded me saying goodbye to my Grandpa Falslev... I know the plan of salvation is true and that our death here on earth is just the start of our eternal life! It’s so exciting and amazing! I truly feel sooooo blessed that I was born into this gospel and I never had to wait for the truth!

The mission is just truly something I can’t describe with words! Every day is so fun, hard, exciting, and beautiful! LIFE CHANGING! Thank you all for your love and support and your letters and love! Chao hasta lunes!

Easter Weekend | The Island of Chiloe

17 April 2017

This weekend was one of the best!

So Tuesday we had Conference with President and we got all ready to go and we get the the church house and no one was there. So we called Hermana Isom and it was on the other side of Puerto Montt and we were the only ones that the Zone Leaders didn't tell.. But Conference was amazing.. It was so fun talking to all the Missionaries about how to be happy in the mission! Then we did a surprise for President and Hermana Isom... we had a member make cakes for them and we sang to them! It was so awesome, we sang Love at Home. They have been married for 43 years.

After Conference, President had interviews and so Hermana Isom came with us to two of our appointments with our amazing investigators and Hermana Isom shared the most beautiful testimony with each of them and even though they were in English they both cried because they could feel the Spirit so strong, it was amazing. Hermana Isom wants to speak Spanish so badly. But even as we translated our investigators were able to feel the spirit so strongly! She had as all crying!

Thursday we got to meet the mom of Monserrat, a little girl that is nine, that loves us and wants to get baptized. Her mom is so ready for the Gospel and was bawling as we spoke to her about the Plan of Salvation. I know they will both be baptized! Heavenly Father works in beautiful ways.. we ran into Monserrat in the street right after fasting! We are visiting them tonight and will be inviting them to be baptized!

Then Friday we left for the Island of Chiloe early in the morning and it was a beautiful drive to Castro the capital which was about 4 hours to drive! We got to Chiloe and I got to work with Hermana Heath from New Zealand!!! Wow she is an amazing missionary and we had so much fun! She and I found 4 new investigators and we seriously had so much fun working together! They are doing amazing things in Chiloe.. there haven’t been Hermana’s there for a long time! I want it to be my next sector, it’s so amazing! Hermana Heath taught me so much and is one of the most amazing missionaries I have ever worked with.. such a blessing to work with her! No wonder my mom loved her mission so much in New Zealand!

We had so much fun it almost seemed like a vacation! Cutest, happiest Hermanas on the Island of Chiloe!

Yesterday was an amazing Easter! My first and only Easter here in Chile! The people don't celebrate it a whole lot here, but we made it fun! I woke up and wrote a letter to my companion and put chocolate on her desk. Then we went to look for our investigator to come to church! The talks were amazing and they all talked so beautifully of Jesus Christ! We left church filled with the spirit! Then we went to lunch and they gave us so much food!  We had soup and then we had lasagna and it almost covered the whole plate. We felt so overly full after, it was bad. We then had so many amazing things happen. We had a leccion with our Investigators Macarena 14 , Daniela 16 and their mom came at the end of our lesson. They had read what we left them to read and they had questions for us about the Plan of Salvation! They are golden investigators. When their mom finally got there she told us that after we left last time, Daniela said she wanted to be a missionary like us one day! They are the sweetest family and Rosa the mom is giving us so many referencias of her family so we can visit and help them! Then we had the best contacts and everyone wanted to talk to us! One contact we had with Natalie was amazing... We were talking about how we are hear to prepare the people for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and I wish you all could have seen her face.. she was shocked.. She was like is He really going to come? She invited us to come by this week! We found so many amazing people yesterday! It truly was such a perfect week.. it’s impossible to put it all into a little email! I love this Country!

The only thing that has been bothering me is all the people that want to talk about Donald Trump and all the horrible things that are going on in other countries.. I don’t like it!

l love you all so much! THIS WORK IS AMAZING!!!!! I love being a missionary in these last days! He is coming and we must be ready! Start now.. read the scriptures, pray, and go to church.. serve in the temple!! Do what He asks! I love you all so much!

Bringing Souls Unto Christ

10 April 2017

Lets see, where do I begin.. It was an amazing week!!! I think one of my favorite things this week was getting to work with Hermana HANOSEK in her sector. She has grown and become even more amazing. It was so fun to work with her… she is really happy in her beautiful sector that has the most amazing view of two volcanos. We were both so happy contacting and catching up! I also had two other intercambios this week with the cutest hermanas.. one from Argentina and one from Chile.. I’ll attach pictures!

On Saturday I was with Hermana Campos in our sector and we were walking and we were walking into a sector that has a ton of houses and we started talking to the lady behind us and she was just like waiting for us to talk to her.. She started telling us about her two girls Macarena 14 and Daniela 16 .. She was on the way to her house and invited us to come. When I met her two girls I felt like we were supposed to meet. They remind me so much of my little sister :) We had an AMAZING lesson! We testified of Jesus Christ and shared the new Easter video with them and they were so quite and the spirit was so strong.. They wanted to come to church the next day and we found a ride for the three of them but they couldn’t make it.. They are amazing and I’m so excited to continue to teach them this week! The mom Rosa at the end gave us a reference for her sister in another city so we passed to reference to the Hermanas there.. This family is GOLDEN!

This week we were able to find 8 new people to teach.. This sector is amazing and so fun! We found a family PF where the mom is the only member and we found them at the most perfect time and they are so excited to read the Book of Mormon and we have only had one lesson with them.. their names is the Yañez Nuñez family and they are so amazing. We are going to visit them tonight and Waldo the dad is going to receive a blessing of health because he hurt his leg really bad and can barely walk. They are so amazing and we found them because we were lost looking for a contact and she ran into us and told us to come to their house!

Its been so special last month and this month to really focus on the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and testifying to EVERYONE that they will have resurrected bodies! The Spirit testifies so strongly to them!

Tomorrow President Isom asked me to give a 10 minute talk in a conference of.. How to be happy in the mission! I am nervous, but looking forward to it.. I think it’s because I always end my weekly emails to him by saying I'm one of the happiest missionaries in the mission... haha.. I love him!

I know this week is going to be amazing and we get to go to Chiloe to visit our amazing sister missionaries there! And lots more! President and Hermana Isom have their wedding anniversary this week so we ordered them a really yummy cake to celebrate after our conference with him!! Love you all so very much! I am enjoying every second of the mission. Can’t believe I completed 13 months yesterday!! Love you all!!!
