Week 2

Hola. Semana 2!!!

What a good semana at the CCM!! So Friday Elder Cook came for a Devotional and it was amazing!! He didn’t bring anything but his scriptures and spoke from the Espiritu guiding him and it was one of the most inspiring talks I’ve ever heard. Me and my companion went on splits and so Hermana Hibbard I got to sit by each other and we sat on the fourth row right in front of him and I swear he kept looking right at us haha. One of my favorite things he said was, “Prayers are answered most when they aren’t about you but when they are about blessing others.” So this week I have been pouring my heart out for others and I truly have seen such a difference. Then Elder Cook shook all of our hands, it was seriously such an amazing Devotional.

Every day I am learning more and more of the language and I love it. It’s been hard but so fun and I can understand mostly everything my teachers say. My Sister Training Leaders are the best and Hermana Fjelsted is from Logan and I love her soooo much. So lucky I have them. Sunday was another amazing day. Presidente Suaste taught us about being fishers of men and how we need to cast out new nets and be Full-Time Missionaries. My Branch Presidency is seriously some of the most amazing men I have ever met... I will get a picture with them before I leave.

Mexico City was crazy last weekend as it was Palm Sunday... There were like fireworks going off all day and it sounded like bombs haha and music going crazy until like 2am hahaha. They know how to celebrate here!!

We got two new investigators this week so it’s been pretty crazy finding time to plan our lessons! But Monday was the best. We had our first leccion with Juan and it was amazing... the spirit was so strong. I could understand everything he said, besides something about coloring Easter eggs haha... But we just got to know him and then told him about our Father in Heaven and then about prayer. It was so cool to be able to talk with him about the Gospel and bare my testimony to him.

I LOVE THIS GOSPEL... In just a short two weeks my life has changed so much and I have so much more knowledge. It is very humbling teaching the Gospel in a new language but I love it!

So this week on Tuesday I got surgery. Since I haven’t worn my shoes in, in like 5 days I got a really bad ingrown toe nail on both sides of my left foot big toe. So I decide to go to the doctor and he said it was really bad... So next thing I know I’m getting numbing shots... like 10 shots in my toe and I cannot even tell you how much it hurt. I was kicking the table with my other leg so hard I honestly haven’t felt pain like that before. And then he told me, “Oh it will feel better as soon as you leave my office...” NO!! I was in soooo much pain walking back to the casa. It was terrible. It’s doing better today but still really sore. I’m just glad it is over with.

Thank you Aunt Kathy if you are reading this... Your package made me soooo happy and I shared with my District and they all love you too! This week was so spiritual and everyday I’m just so happy to be here at the CCM learning the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a new language, and getting to be with the greatest teachers and leaders.

PLEASE if you have any funny stories or just want to send me a good talk or tell me about your day go to mtcmexicocarepackage.com SERIOUSLY IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY HAHA.
I LOVE YOU ALL.

Week 1

Week one!!! Hi everyone!! I’m going to try my best to make sense out of this email! I sleep like a baby even though the beds are rock hard. The food is good I mostly eat beans and rice and fruit so not complaining. The first day here was a roller coaster and so long. Seriously from Thursday to Saturday felt like forever!!! But now that it’s been a week in like what the heck where has time gone... My companion is Hermana Pyatt and we are very different but we help each other a lot! She is my teacher at Spanish. The language is coming and I can pray, testify, and somewhat communicate haha but I love learning Spanish!! All the teachers here at the CCM are Latino and seriously the best ever and can hardly speak English. The second day here we had to give a lesson to an investigator. His name is Jorge and two days ago we asked him to be baptized and he accepted and that was a cool experience even though he is just kind of like an actor but we never know whether they are members of the church or not.

I love being a missionary, every night I go to bed with a smile on my face. Sundays are amazing and so spiritual it’s unreal and the leaders here are so inspired! Now let’s talk about my District they are amazing!!! They make me and Hermana Pyatt laugh every day! Two elders are from Arizona, one is from Nashville, one is from Colorado, one from Idaho Falls, and one from Utah! We are seriously family and Saturday night I was having kind of a rough night cause we had just got done teaching our second lesson to our investigator and I was just really frustrated and had this strongest feeling to ask the Elders in my District for a blessing and they were so excited and were like heck yeah so Elder Kirkland from Arizona gave me a blessing and it was so cool to have all six of them be in the circle and we were like all crying. And then they asked Hermana Pyatt if she wanted one and so then she got one then all of the Elders got a blessing and we all felt the Spirit so strong. And for three of them it was their first times giving blessings and it honestly was the coolest experience and brought us even closer. Now to my Zone... They are so amazing!! One of the districts in my Zone leaves on Monday and I’m honestly going to cry because I love them all they have been so nice and we are such a tight zone. Our Branch Presidency is amazing!!! Such inspired men from the Lord and I feel their love so much they all live about 15 minutes from the CCM and are such loving humans.. I truly just feel truly blessed and know I was supposed to come here when I did. Hermana Hibbard (the one I met at the airport) is seriously my soul sister and has blessed my life so much. Missionary work is hard especially in a new language and at times I feel like I’ll never get it but I feel blessings and improvement every day and it’s been an amazing experience so far. The CCM is so beautiful and they have workers here every day making it look so perfect its crazy haha. Again I just feel so blessed to be here in Mexico, with the people I’m with, and the teachers I have. OKAY EVERYONE IF YOU GO TO: www.mtcmexicocarepackage.com YOU CAN WRITE ME FREE LETTERS AND I WILL GET THEM THE NEXT MORNING FROM WHEN YOU WRITE THEM COOL HUH... SO IF YOU LOVE ME THEN WRITE ME I CANT WRITE BACK BUT I WILL NEXT THURSDAY! PLEASE AND YOU CAN SEND ME A PACKAGE IF YOU REALLY LOVE ME AHAHAH. --
Thank you all for your love and support I don’t miss home to bad yet haha just your faces! God bless you all.

-- Hi!!! What an amazing day! I met Hermana Hibbard at the (SLC) airport and she is amazing!!!! Seriously we are the same person!! She went to Riverton high school and is the cutest human alive. The flight was long but so good. It’s so amazing here in Mexico. I love all the Elders and Hermanas I came with. The MTC is so good. I honestly feel so blessed. The hardest part is hauling around my luggage. My companion is Hermana Pyatt from Massachusetts. Colton you are going to love this. I have met some football players and I feel so cool being able to talk to them about their positions. Me and Hermana Hibbard were so hungry! The food is okay haha I’m sure I will grow to love it. Everyone here is soooo happy it’s amazing. I love that we are all here for the same thing to do the work. Seriously wish that Hermana Hibbard was my companion but we are in the same casa so that is good and we can go on switches together. I’m not sad or missing home. You can tell the missionaries that are excited and the ones that aren’t. Me and Hermana Hibbard are so happy but very tired. These keyboards are very different so that’s why it’s a little crazy and we only have like 5 minutes. I love you all so much. Also the presidency of the MTC is amazing. They gave us hugs and just told us how happy they were we were here. Also I’m already in love with the people. The flight attendants were so nice. I know that this is exactly where I need to be. I have never been so happy! Got to go. My p day with be Thursday but not tomorrow.
